The Republic of Moldova will be the main partner in a wine project. WINET is the first cross-border partnership in the Black Sea Basin region, which will initially include three countries: Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria.

It aims to intensify cross-border trade, modernize agriculture and the wine sector.

According to the organizers, more than 100 wineries, 22 national, local and regional public authorities, 17 interest groups and NGOs, 10 business support organizations, including the National Vine and Wine Office, will be involved in the Republic of Moldova.

The project implementation period is scheduled for April 2021. During this time, several online platforms and a mobile application will be created to sell wines from the three countries worldwide. Also, the platform will also contain interactive tourist maps, which will increase wine tourism.

The winemaking companies from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria will receive another opportunity to promote their business. This will lead to export increasing on the international level, grow of cross-border trade operations and modernization for the whole agricultural sector.
The cross-border project “WINET – Trade and innovation in wine sector” will unite the wine producers from Moldova, 6 regions of Romania (Tulcea, Constanta, Galat, Braila, Buzau, and Vrancea), and from Bulgaria Severoiztochen region (which includes Varna, Dobrich, Targovishte, and Shumen) and Yugoiztochen region (Burgas, Sliven, Yambol, and Stara Zagora). The project has successfully reached the stage of creation the participants’ network. On the date of 31st of January, the ceremony of signing the collaboration protocols with wine producing companies from mentioned regions took place in a cross-border format. This will be a starting point for online platform creation.
