In the south Bulgarian region the climate is moderate continental with a good distribution of rainfall throughout the vegetation period. The local varieties typical of this wine region are Mavrud, Rubin, Pamide and Red Misket. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and others are also grown.
The climatic conditions of the area, protected by sharp north winds, the large number of sunny days and high temperatures create conditions for rich and dense red wines with aging potential.
