Delegation of Bulgarian wineries, part of the WINET platform accompanied by the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Stara Zagora and business supporting organization, participated in best practices exchange program organized in the Black sea region of the neighboring country România. The host of the exchange program is the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Tulcea – the WINET project partner.
The study tours were planned for 3 days – from 17 till 20 July 2021.
The visit started in Cernavodă City, in Crama Rasova where the winemakers from the two countries discussed vine-growing and wine-making technics used by the winery. The vineyard and the winery are located in Cernavoda, Constanta, near the Autostrada Soarelui – Cernavoda exit, stretching over an area of 50 hectares.
The WINET members could follow the course of the Danube from the sunny terraces of the winery, which describe a charming landscape and harmoniously complete the „wine road“. The main grape varieties grown in Rasova, with care and passion for quality, are: Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Cabernet, Syrah and Pinot Noir.
After Rasova, the team visited Crama Trantu Murfatlar located in Cernavodă. The Trantu winery vineyard location is influenced by the gentle currents from the Danube and the Black Sea, the abundant sun, calcareous soils and mild winters creates a microclimate suitable for creating special wines, is a landmark in Murfatlar Vineyard. With experience in wines before ’89, Mr. Trantu launched himself as a winery owner and oenologist specializing in Romania since 1999, becoming the creator of his own wines, one of the first private wine producers in the country and the first wine producer roses from Romania.
At Crama Hamangia in Baia village, were presented the vine plantations as well as their wine-making facilities, talking about methods and equipment used. The vineyards are about 45 hectares with different wine varieties which they care with passion, baked under the Doborgean sun, from water near the lake Goloviţa and other lagoons.
Тhe second day the Bulgarian wine producers participants of the practices exchange program Bulgaria – Romania visited the very charming area in the Danube Delta.
The group visited Crama Bratu – more than just a winery and a simple wine producer. It is a soul project, in which the word „family“ has a strong resonance. The vineyard reaches an area of 45 HA of vines, from where they obtain the varieties specific to the Dealurile Moldovei area. One of the most modern winery in Galati County.
The Bulgarian guests were inspired at Crama Macin. The Vinuri de Macin, also known as AlcoVin SRL – a Romanian winery, which joined the WINET cross-border project, from Sarica – Niculiţel vineyard, located in Macin, Tulcea County. The winery was established in 2002, having as main activity wine production bottling and marketing. For almost 10 years, those from Alcovin have been the official suppliers of the Royal House of Romania. The Alcovin estate covers about 300 hectares, the processing and storage capacity of the winery being about 2,300 tons. The wines produced here are delivered for both internal and external markets. Throughout the production processes, Macin aims to comply with European technological standards.
On the third day of the exchange program study tour finished at the Denube Delta Winery. The Crama Delta Dunarii wine business occupies 20 hectares of vineyard, with a newly-constructed winery of 300 square metres. Grape varieties cultivated are: Feteasca, Rkatitel, Riesling, Sauvignon, Moscato Ottonel (for white wines) Merlot, babesca, Blauer, Sangiovese (for red wines).
Impressed by the experience, history and wine specifics of the Romanian winemakers, Bulgarian participants continued their trip to Moldova ready for new wine experiences.
