Description

ABOUT NOVW

The National Office of Vine and Wine (NOVW) is a public institution, organized through a public-private partnership in the field of policy implementation in the wine industry.

NOVW operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Regional Development and the environment, and operates as a public-private partnership, being managed and financed jointly by the National Fund for Vine and Wine, consisting of private sector contributions and the state budget.

NOVW focuses its activity on 3 strategic axes:

Promoting the image of wine products on the domestic market and for export;

Improving the competitiveness of the wine sector;

Strengthening the institutional capacities of NOVW.

History

The National Office of Vine and Wine (NOVW) was designed on the model of similar wine-growing institutions in the world's major wine-producing countries. NOVW was established by Government Decision no. 725 of September 16, 2013, and the direct application of sectoral policies started in April 2014.

The establishment of NOVW represented the decisive step taken by the public and private sector in implementing the changes in the legislative and normative framework of the wine sector and the promotion of the country wine brand - “Moldovan wine. A wine legend ”(“ Wine of Moldova. A legend alive ”), which essentially contributes to the recognition and promotion of quality Moldovan wine abroad.
