Contributes to the application of good practices in the economic and social development of the country.

History

The appearance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry belongs to the period of the modern era. Thus, in 1599, in Marseilles, France an association was founded to represent the interests of merchants and businessmen, before the authorities and partners.

The need to create a structure for supervising and directing national trade was also felt in Bessarabia.

The First Chamber in Chisinau was in charge of preparing the information of the applicants, about the prices on the markets in Chisinau and other cities; authorized the removal from the commercial circuit of some goods that for certain reasons were not taken from the buyer, made an advertisement for the promotion of the goods, exhibitions were organized, etc.

Subsequently, on the territory of Bessarabia or formed several Chambers of Commerce. In 1935 they united in a Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Bessarabia, which was part of the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Romania (established in 1925).

After the establishment of Soviet power, KIC activity ceased. But at the border of the 60s and 70s of the century. XX the activity of the Chamber was partially restored, due to the intensification of the external economic ties of the Republic of Moldova.

In 1968, the CCI of the former USSR created in Ungheni its first representation on the MSSR territory.

On November 4, 1969, following an approach submitted by the leadership of the republic, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry decided to open a section of it in Chisinau.

After an activity of almost two years, the department demonstrates that it can solve the tasks in front of such an institution. Thus, there is a need to raise the legal status of this republican organization. At the Republican assembly of the section on November 30, 1972, the decision was made to form the CCI of the R.S.S.M.
