The experimental station for viticulture and winemaking was established on May 1, 1953 and has many structural changes in its historical development. In 1962 it grew into a Complex Experimental Station with departments of viticulture, winemaking, fruit growing and vegetable production. During the period 1976 - 1986 the experimental station was part of the Research and Production Vine and Wine Complex in Varna, and from 28.12.2000 to 08.09.2003 it was a branch of ILV in Pleven. For some time it has been functioning as a Regional Center for Scientific and Applied Services. In 1962 -1963 the wine cellar with a capacity of 150,000 kg of grapes was built - the first cellar of its kind of tunnel underground type with a constant natural temperature of 12-14 degrees.
