A historic success for Midalidare Estate and Bulgarian sparkling wine became known on the December 11, 2020. At an official virtual ceremony broadcast live from London, UK, The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships announced the winners for 2020. The sparkling wines of MIDALIDARE won the extremely prestigious award World Champion in the Blanc de Blancs category and won one more gold and four silver medals, two awards Best in Class, National Champion and Chairman’s Trophy.

Nikolay Katerov from Midalidare Estate was announced for „Oenologist of the Year” 2020. The award enjoys exceptional prestige, as the guild itself, through the competition held annually by Union of Enologists in Bulgaria (UEB), selects the most deserving professional.
The year 2020 is undoubtedly challenging and difficult for the world. It is the same for the Bulgarian wine society and business. Despite everything, the Bulgarian winemakers managed, even in these conditions, to produce another excellent wine, which proved that they are professionals at an extremely high level – the proof is in every bottle.
