KaraGani is a family wine courtyard with a national character which cultivates grapes
and produces wine. Our vineyards are located in the most southern part of the Republic of
Moldova, the city of Vulcanesti. Favorable microclimate, modern technologies, observance of the best traditions of our region, the experience accumulated over the centuries and transferred from generation to generation, allows producing high-quality wines.
Take time to participate in the collection of grapes and its processing, to penetrate into
the holy of holies of the courtyard - the wine cellars built by our hands, finally, to get a
bottle of heady drink directly in the "place of birth". Get acquainted with the Gagauz
culture, taste dishes of national cuisine, visit the mini-museum in which we collect
things that tell us about the life and traditions of the Gagauz people. Part of our soul,
invested in the cultivation of grapes, and then in the production of wine, gives a unique taste
and good mood.

The winery was founded in 2006 by the Cherven family. The tradition of winemaking in the Cherven family comes all the way from their Gagauz ancestors, primarily Orthodox Turkic-speaking people that settled in the area, at the beginning of the 18th century. As the craft for wine was passed down through 4 generations, the family took their passion a few steps further, developing it into a business.

Besides winemaking, Cherven family also offers a peek into Gagauz traditional life in their own self-made museum, which consists of objects gathered of their families throughout the years.

Lots of objects have stories to tell, from pictures of their relatives, to old irons, lamps, Gagauz furniture, handmade carpets, and a coffer full of grandmother’s wedding dowry.
While enjoying the wines, Lora or Gheorghe will offer you detailed information on each wine.
For those wishing to immerse themselves deeper into the Gagauz culture, hosts offer the option to taste their national cuisine with specialties like traditional cheese, gozleme and their famous lamb dishes – kavurma, shurpa, etc.
