Vine variety originated in France, but known today in many countries around the world: New Zealand, California, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Chile and others. The wine obtained can be vinified as such only from Sauvignon Blanc grapes , but in many countries with other varieties such as Semillon, in which case it takes the name of the field in which it was produced. The typology of Sauvignon Blanc wine is characterized by freshness, vivacity, imperiousness, and a delicious fruitiness.
Sweet, spicy or protein foods, less salty, give the wine a stronger, more prominent texture. The wine will have an acidic character and, if it has been aged in oak barrels, it will also present bitter shades. The wines recommended for sweet, spicy or protein dishes are the lightest, driest, freshest.
