WINET Trade Forum was held on 24th and 25th of September 2020 in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria in the conference room of the Regional Historical Museum – Stara Zagora. The WINET Trade Forum is an event organized in the framework of the project WINET – Trade and Innovation in Wine Industry. The Project is implemented with the support of the Black Sea Basin Programme, part of European Union’s Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) cooperation platform and is especially dedicated for wine sector and wine trade.
The European Commission adopted on July 7 an additional package of exceptional measures to support the wine sector, following the coronavirus crisis and its consequences on the sector, the Commission said in a statement. The wine sector is among the hardest hit agri-food sectors, due to rapid changes in demand and the closure of restaurants and bars across the EU, which was not compensated by home consumption, the Commission said.

The Republic of Moldova will be the main partner in a wine project. WINET is the first cross-border partnership in the Black Sea Basin region, which will initially include three countries: Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria.
It aims to intensify cross-border trade, modernize agriculture and the wine sector.
According to the organizers, more than 100 wineries, 22 national, local and regional public authorities, 17 interest groups and NGOs, 10 business support organizations, including the National Vine and Wine Office, will be involved in the Republic of Moldova.
The project implementation period is scheduled for April 2021. During this time, several online platforms and a mobile application will be created to sell wines from the three countries worldwide. Also, the platform will also contain interactive tourist maps, which will increase wine tourism.
